Dr. Shahed Sadr DC

As a kid you feel unbreakable, your body is a tool for play, expressing your thoughts and emotions instead of words, and as a stubborn kid, pain was the least of my worries, and recovery didn’t make sense. The older I got, the more I realized, my body is a complicated tool, and the only instrument I must connect with the world around me. This fascinating instrument needs its adjustment and tuning for the best performance.

Curiosity was the first step to dig deep and question the pains inside of my body. The question that started all for me. How can I help this complicated vessel with no user manual? The body with the full capability of healing itself, and how to help its progress and extend its full potential.

Throughout my study, I noticed most physical pains were similar to each other, pains that stayed with people. Through different ages in their lives, the body only gets used to and to its survivor instead of getting better and solving the problem.

I learned the difference between soreness and pains that helped me grow and the pains that stopped me from improving my ability, physically and mentally, because of lack of knowledge. Therefore, I decided to discover and learn about my body, and find out the source of my pains.

Facing your pains and fear of lacking ability in life is the hardest and the longest, exhausting, and rewarding process that you can do in life. Curiosity and passion are the tools that helped me face them all, learning about muscle tenderness, ligaments, joint capsule and nerves. Understanding this purpose and what they represent came through studying chiropractic. Representation of stretch and its benefits, understanding the meaning of subluxation (restriction of the joints), purpose of the use of muscle, and how to increase their range of motion through the contraction. The journey made me see the beauty of chiropractic and the importance of it all.

Movement is essential for our body and its existence, and our brain is the controller of this movement. However, as much as we think we are connected to our body, through experiences in life, we learn that we do not use the full capacity of our body. The lack of connection between our body and brain creates resistance in our movement.

That’s how I discovered Neuro plasticity. For example, when you want to learn piano, you have to play the keys over and over to become your second nature. When you want to change the functionality of a joint, you have to create movement to create neuro plasticity, and constant training and engaging the connection between the part of your body and awareness of your brain, so your brain’s neurons make the connection happen.

I wish to pass this knowledge on to the world. I owe this to being able to help people with scoliosis (spine deformities) and unravel the magic of chiropractors and show the world a different view of the effect of this profession before I leave this earth.
